Hydrocolloid bandage is water-resistant, and isolates water, dust, bacteria, which helps reduce infection risk without affecting normal breathing of the skin. The dressing can absorb exudate, promote migration of new epithelial cells, and form a soft protective layer for healing wound. It also provides a moist environment for healing and helps reduce the likelihood of scar formation. Hydrocolloid is soft and is intended to cover the entire wound which can avoid causing pain by direct contact. It is also transparent for easy monitoring of the wound condition, and will become opaque as it absorbs the exudate from the wound, and at the same time the bandage should be replaced if deemed necessary.
